Hart Shows Field How to win in Show Me State! PDF Print E-mail

(ODESSA, MO) The third event of the 2010 ASRS Outlaw Paintshop All American Series sent the cars and stars north to Odessa, Missouri and the I-70 Speedway.  A staple on the Outlaw Paintshop All American Series, I-70 features fender grinding action around each turn of the tricky .54 mile track.

In a race that surprisingly featured fewer cautions than years past, the reputation for bent sheet metal continued in 2010.  Greg Evans, the current points leader and winner of the first two events of the season took home his 2nd Speedway Action Images Pole Award.  Ron Hart was alongside for the green flag.  Evans had the dominate car early, but the mandatory pit stop shook up the running order, with Evans dropping back after a spin, the result of contact with defending champion Jim Foose.  Hart also had a rough go of things in the beginning of the race as John Caddell made contact with Hart’s #33 causing it to spin.  Caddell was later parked by series officials after causing a third incident.  Hart made a two tire stop after the incident and remained on the track for the remaining laps, eventually taking the lead.  Hart would hold on to the lead long enough to take the checkered flag, after a late incident forced the race to end under the caution flag.  Evans rallied back to finish 2nd, Rob Matthews, Anthony Gonzalez and Justin McLeod rounded out the top 5.

For the first time ever, the ASRS Outlaw Paintshop All American Series heads to the wild and crazy “Mad House”, the famed ¼ mile bullring in Winston-Salem, North Carolina known as Bowman Gray Stadium.  The event will mark only the second ASRS sanctioned event at Bowman Gray, and first since 2007 when the ASRS Crash Car Series invaded the historic track.

The American Sim Racing Series has seen continued growth since its birth in 2002.  Since 2005, some of the biggest names in short track sim racing have raced in the American Sim Racing Series, making it America’s #1 Online Short Track League.  For more information on the ASRS visit www.americansimracing.com.
