Spoiler is back in ASRS Cup Series

(DAYTONA BEACH, FL) Officials with the American Sim Racing Series announced Tuesday evening that the spoiler will replace the rear wing in the ASRS Cup Series beginning with the ASRS Shootout and Speedway Action Images Challenge on February 8th.

“With very little modifications required to the cars, and the inevitable change with the NASCAR Cup Series, we feel now is the right time to change the appearance of our cars” ASRS President Jim Foose said in a statement.  “Our drivers have spoken and made it known that they wanted this change, in six hours 12 of 14 voters voted to make the change immediately and the reception once the announcement was made prior to Truck Series Practice was overwhelming.  These guys wanted to change and we are happy to make the change for them.”

The spoiler update for the SprintCup mod is available at http://bigdonlinemotorsports.com/Sprintcupseries.html.  Additionally, the Lurn2Burn templates are now approved for competition in the ASRS Cup Series.

The ASRS Cup Series kicks off with the non-points ASRS Shootout and Speedway Action Images Challenge event on Monday, February 8.  The first points event is the Daytona 150, February 15th.

The American Sim Racing Series has seen continued growth since its birth in 2002.  Since 2005, some of the biggest names in short track sim racing have raced in the American Sim Racing Series, making it America’s #1 Online Short Track League.  For more information on the ASRS visit www.americansimracing.com.
